Alright guys, I haven’t been this excited for a LUSH review since my Bûche de Noël review earlier this year!
I saw Scrubee online and really wanted to try it, but I put myself on a no-LUSH buying ban until I go to Tokyo this July.
But then, I went in just to look and after much fighting with myself, I caved and bought it because, look how cute he is!
On LUSH’s website, they describe Scrubee as
Meet Scrubee – the newest buffer on the block.
With all that hydrating honey and cocoa butter he may seem like a real softy, but don’t underestimate his polishing power – he’s packed full of ground coconut shells and ground almonds to give you a gentle, effective exfoliation.
So, what got me was how cute Scrubee is. It fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and is actually not that heavy. It’s not as yellow as the product photos make it seem, more of a creamy colour but it’s still adorable.
It was particularly hot the day I bought it, so by the time I got home, there was some oil residue on the bag and when I held him, he started to melt quite quickly. So I’d suggest getting it in a box, rather than a bag and keeping him out of the heat.
Actually, as soon as I got home, I cut it into three sections, put two in the fridge and one in an old LUSH pot in the bathroom. Just because I felt that if I left him all together, it would get used up too quickly and I could stretch the life of it, especially since it costs 15,000 KRW!
This smells SO GOOD. The cocoa butter scent is pretty strong, but not overpowering and I found myself just sitting there smelling it because it was so nice, especially with the coconut oil to give it a little something extra. However, the Bergamont and Brazilian Orange oil scents aren’t too strong, but they’re definitely there.
Something I was worried about was the ground coconut shell, thinking it would be way too harsh, but actually the scrubby side is quite gentle, but strong enough to give a light exfoliation. However, if you scrub hard enough with it, I can definitely see it doing some damage to your skin, so be careful!
When I used it, I showered as usual and used an exfoliating mitt to gently exfoliate and at the end of the shower, I stepped out of the water, scrubbed lightly with Scrubbee, to get the product on my skin and then just used my hands to scrub even more. That way, a lot of the Scrubee doesn’t go to waste in the water, since it melts quite quickly.
After, I just rinsed it off quickly and pat dry.
Warning, your bathroom floor can get a little bit greasy due to the amount of butters and oils in this, so wash down your bathroom floor after using this.
When you get out of the shower, the scent lingers on your skin for quite a long time. Actually, I used it last night and even now in the morning there’s a light scent remaining from it on my skin. My skin still feels really moisturized and soft, almost as if i applied body lotion, so depending on your skin and the weather, you should adjust your skin moisturizers to suit.
I wouldn’t recommend Scrubee for every day use though, because of the exfoliating factor as well as the high amount of moisturizers in it. Maybe twice a week?
But really, I love this little guy so much! I never really saw the point of in shower lotions since I thought they would just wash away really quickly but Scrubee really changed my mind on this. It actually really upsets me that it’s still a limited edition product in Korea, since I would love to buy this all year round. Not just a similar product, but this exact one, but I can’t get myself to drop the money to stock up on him at a 15,000KRW each price tag.
Overall, I love this little guy so much!
If you’re looking for a beyond amazing, exceeds all expectations body butter, go out to your nearest LUSH now and get a Scrubee or two!
